First Visit

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office.  At this initial appointment, along with a thorough examination, we will discuss your potential treatment options.

Our objectives of this first visit are to be able to look at the short and long-term needs for each individual.  This important visit will provide you with the following information:

  • Is there a problem that orthodontic treatment can address?
  • Timing of treatment--is orthodontic treatment needed now, or should intervention be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct a problem?
  • Estimate of the treatment time.
  • Estimate of the fee for treatment.
While we can often answer these general questions about treatment at the initial examination, we address specific areas after study records (x-rays, impressions, etc) have been taken for diagnosis and consultation.  Careful diagnosis and planning leads to superior results and high patient satisfaction.

We will schedule an additional consultation to discuss treatment options, type of treatment, time frames and financial arrangements.  It is important to us that our patients are provided with a clear explanation and understanding of their specific needs and recommended treatment.  This allows for making informed choices.

Please let us know if you have had a panoramic x-ray taken within the past twelve months.

Our initial visit is always complimentary.

We encourage questions from both patients and parents, and as such, we design our schedule so that we can provide ample time to answer your questions.
