Financial Information

FINANCIAL

As a courtesy to our patients, we offer a financing plan with no interest.  An initial down payment is required with the balance of the patient's responsibility to be paid over an estimated number of months of treatment.

Financial contracts are set up at the beginning of treatment.

Insurance Policies & Guidelines

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, we will assist you in determining your insurance coverage. However, as with all insurance, there is no guarantee of payment until a claim is acutally filed.

How does orthodontic insurance work?

There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit.  However, orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services.  This benefit is normally paid over a period of treatment time rather than at the beginning of treatment.

How does our office assist you with insurance?

For your convenience, we are flexible on our payment plans and do accept payment from insurance companies. We will gladly assist you by submitting initial insurance claims pertaining to charges for orthodontic treatment rendered in our office.

Our primary financial relationship is with our patients or their families and not with the insurance companies.  Financial arrangements can be made based on your estimated insurance benefit; however, any outstanding insurance claims not paid by the insurance company are the responsibility of the patient or the responsible party.

Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you or your child.  If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all outstanding charges.

Helpful Hints

  • Know who your dental insurance carrier is and what your benefits are before treatment starts.  (Medical and Dental insurance are commonly from different companies)

Questions to ask your Human Resource Department or your insurance company representative:

  • Do I have orthodontic coverage?
  • If so, what are the maximums and limitations?
  • Does the insurance company pay automatically?
  • Will the insurance company accept assignment? (pay claims directly to our office)
  • Bring your insurance card or insurance information including name, address and telephone number of your dental insurance carrier and we will be happy to verify your insurance for you. (Verification is never a guarantee of payment)
  • If your employer offers a medical reimbrusement plan, we will be happy to help provide you with the information you may need to submit for reimbursement from your flex spending accounts.
